A Steering Committee was organized in 1966-1969 to establish what has grown to become South Kirbyville Rural Water Corporation. Don Crane was hired in 1969 as billing clerk and Vollie Peters as operator. Upon retirement Mr Peters had worked 18 years and Don Crane had 30 years of service. In 1981 Donese Smith was hired to do the bookkeeping and upon retirement in 2013 she had 32 years of service. In 1987 Randy Fussell was hired as operator and after Don Crane retired he became the Manager of South Kirbyville Rural WSC until 2018, he resigned with 31 years of service in August 2018. Shane Mitchell was hired as a operater in 2006 and was appointed Manager in August 2018. Malissa Mitchell has been the Secretary since 1999. In 2018 Wayne Morrow was hired to help Shane and in 2019 April Higginbotham was hired to help in the office.
